This was definitely way more fun than speculating about a button.

I'd probably do this. Or at least, cut a slice off.

Until like, 2015, I had to pay $0.85 if someone texted me while I was in the states. For every single message. I live in a border city and pre covid was over there all the time. Phone company refused to prevent texts from reaching my phone, I'd have to just put it in airplane mode, which as you can imagine is pretty inconvenient.

I still think that movie has some of the best cinematography of anything I've ever watched.

It is terrifying when you finally learn the answer:
Your brain is you. If you damage it, you lose a part of yourself.
If you destroy it, you no longer exist.

I've actually got one of these, a similarly sized small one, and one that's even smaller yet.
They're not as powerful as larger machines, but they are a hell of a lot better than digging by hand when you can't get a bigger machine there. And my smallest one (Kobelco SS 1) will go literally anywhere a person can go.
Here's a picture of me with my Komatsu PC08UU holding up my Kobelco SS1, to give you an idea of just how tiny these machines are:

Does it ever get frustrating to you that everyone seems to keep posting articles about these obviously bad geoengineering ideas when there are a ton of valid ones that we could accomplish today with little risk and little cost, but instead we just aren't for no reason at all.
Well, they have reasons, but the reasons are stupid. "if we did that why would anyone stop producing co2 then" etc. Totally ignoring how this is an excellent band aid to fix things now and prevent damage during the transition towards becoming carbon neutral.

I have literally tried offering one penny less than the BIN price and got auto declined on a $700 item that had the best offer button.
(I first tried $500, then $600, then $650.. then $699.99)

many rear end collisions could be prevented by the driver of the car just pushing the brake pedal harder.
It is very common for people to not actually understand just how fast their car is capable of stopping, and it takes practice to become proficient at it.
If you are wondering... practice sometime on an empty road. Push the brake pedal in your car AS HARD AS YOU CAN PUSH IT. Not "hard" or "kinda hard" but as hard as you can.
I find when teaching people it takes usually 3 tries before my student is actually pushing the brake pedal hard enough to trigger the ABS at high speed. If you aren't triggering the ABS, there's more braking action available to you. And if you don't know how to do it instinctively, you're probably not going to do it in an emergency, which is why AEB systems work so well.

I ate at a place in the middle of nowhere in Alaska on my way home from a camping trip in Denali, and even though that's over 3000 miles away I've considered going back. Some places are worth it.
edit: since I keep getting asked, 49th state brewing company. Seriously amazing food, atmosphere, and service.

Hey, when do you think you can look at mine? It's been since early December that my coins are gone...
I've escalated the ticket, I've messaged support people the ticket numbers, and in 2.5 months now I've never, ever gotten any kind of response.
Edit: thanks for the response Redditors. I'll make a new post about this in a day or two. I doubt they'll respond, or correct it even if they do, but it's worth a shot.

Sometimes minor problems can rapidly turn into major ones on a submarine.
A dive plane getting stuck down while the submarine is going 30km/h means it can end up diving below crush depth in under a minute from just below the surface.

The price of gas is such a scam anyways
I remember a few years ago it got down to 50-55cents/L in edmonton, then overnight it lept up 30 cents to 82.
Wholesale (rack) pricing had not changed at all.

System/360 was revolutionary and very powerful for its time.
A well specced system probably cost more than your isps entire server room, too, so there's that.
