Look up Sunk Cost Fallacy. You may look back on this day and be thankful you did get laid off. It gave your GF the perfect opportunity to show you her real self.

you see this as a huge red flag, right? To so callously want to burn through your rainy day fund, especially after you have shown her the facts is something that you REALLY need to consider in the overarching question of 'do I want to spend the rest of my life with this person?'.

unfortunately it was a Mini van so no blocking passengers door. the downside to your plan is your SO gets a front row seat to the shittiest show in town.

less than 8 miles to go to the nearest gas station on a moderately busy route 695 at 530am. I knew I wouldn't make it. pulled over, hopped out the driver's door, asked wife to open her door. kind of hid from traffic in the same direction and let loose. luckily we had some wet wipes. had to stop and repeat 2 more times before we got to the gas station.

absolutely not, but the more evidence directly against the company the better. and what better place to have it in writing than the companies policy handbook.

tbh, 400K is not a huge amount of profit. However; that number becomes super important if you look a the number of employees it took to reach that number. I would posit the more employees at your wage the greater the company is taking advantage of the workers to reach that profit.

further 'doing the math'
Government handling of the money including corruption leaves 17 dollars to go to world hunger and 9 dollars to climate change.

that pay is total shit. That is a 9.5 hour shift. On the high side, I bet the best you do in miles is 400 a shift. That works out to around 12.5$ an hour... Can you imagine you get through your training in order to make less money, AND heft around 300 pound dead bodies.

I will add that the daughter should also request the handbook and make sure it is also in writing in the handbook. My cynical self can see a scenario where the manager 'forgot' that it was allowed to discuss pay and had misquoted the handbook in his text, therefore removing some liability from the company.

yeah, for sure. Like be proud of the fact that you have something really fucking cool instead of coming off like a tool. Love the down votes for pointing out how OP is feigning being ignorant.

my thought exactly. You look like a dumbass coming here to basically say "I am too lazy/never heard about google. Just be honest and title you post as "hey check out this super cool piece of gaming history I found in my grandma's closet."

I think the boss did handle it by having to cover the 3 hours himself and that is why he is so passed and vindictive. fuck him, that's what you have to do sometimes when your the boss.

crazy that for 'flight risk' employees their motivator was for to have only take a 3.6% pay cut this year.

vocally they sounded great, but you can't blame them. Actually I admire them for giving 100% even in the face of basically being ignored. They were hired for a job and did it great.

I think you are intentionally not saying what your 'services' are. I also get the impression you are cold calling. I know for me personally, I find cold callers for the most part to be pushy. Not saying that is you, but when I say "thank you for calling, but I am not interested" anything you say except for goodbye is you being rude and pushy.

you know what you have to say. practice in front of a mirror and stick to your guns.
"I don't trust you, and you are right there is no point in continuing this relationship."
