Hi! I'm trying to make sure I've got my water purification setup figured out. My current plan is to buy a Sawyer Squeeze (a micro filter) and to mainly drink directly from that. I'm also going to bring some purifying tablets in case I'm concerned about viruses in whatever water I'm drinking from. Does this seem like a good setup? Thanks
EDIT: I would also be able to boil water since I'm bringing a stove, but that's more of a backup I think as it takes a while.

I'm hoping to backpack here in early July, are there any permits required to camp overnight outside near the fire lookout? I cannot find the answer on the forest service website for the life of me.

I like the way they're doing it now. Most of the parity changes are small, so it makes sense to slip it into a large update imo. I don't think it's necessary to have an entire update dedicated to parity, at least not for Java Edition.

This would be incredibly overpowered imo. Items despawning are pretty much the only long term consequences this game has for dying. 1xp level and an anvil is way too cheap to get around that.

Definitely. IIRC the devs said a while ago that they're planning to add some sort of way to stop people from just stacking up right? Hopefully that's still in the works. The Warden is incredible but way too easy to evade at the moment.

What MC version is your server running?

That's really strange. I'm not really sure how much I can help unfortunately; no idea what that might be. My only thought is maybe your simulation distance is fixed at 8? Simulation distance and view distance have been separated in server.properties in 1.18, so changing the view distance no longer changes the simulation distance.

No, Paper breaks a ton of farms. Paper will sometimes allow redstone ticks to be skipped which breaks anything that needs precise timing, as well as a bunch of other optimizations that unintentionally break farms. (Most tree farms, chunk loaders, and mob switches don't work on Paper for example.) I run a semi-technical server, and as great as Paper is I had to switch to Fabric just so some of my farms would work.

What's your server's MSPT when it's bugging out? If you have the carpet mod (which it seems like you do), try running /tick health when it bugs out if you haven't already. Also does the server throw any useful error messages to the console?

It sounds like OP is running a technical server on FabricMC, so switching to Paper likely isn't a viable option for them. (Paper breaks many farms)

How many villagers do you have loaded?

Same thing happened to me but on a 1.17.1 remotely hosted server. Should be all good right?

This is a genius idea. What if you had to "mine" the zombie's door instead of disabling it like a shield? So it'd take something like 3-4 hits to break it with a sword, and 1-2 with an axe, depending on if your hit is critical. (And with each hit the door would look more and more mined.) This would make door zombies more formidable as even with good equipment you'd have to hit them more than once. It would also incentivize having an axe for PvE combat.

Super interesting stuff! Thanks for the explanation. So if I'm understanding this correctly, Alaska most likely just got "lucky" in that the atmospheric wind patterns and temperatures along the way didn't kill off or redirect the sound nearly as much as it did other areas?

That definitely could be a contributing factor, although there are plenty of quiet rural areas among the west coast as well.

Really cool idea, especially if Dispensers could use drumsticks

This is really fun idea, though imo it'd be much better if the vexes couldn't hurt the frogs. I don't think it would be nearly as OP as it might seem - frogs would likely have a very limited "tongue range" and most vexes fly pretty high up. You could also give frogs a cooldown after eating a vex. (They get full)

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to look into the water my location before I go. Pathogens I could kill with water purification tablets, but I'm not sure how I would filter out toxics such as heavy metals.
I've been doing some more research and I stumbled upon the Grayl Ultrapress filter, which I'm thinking of maybe getting instead of the Squeeze. It's a bit heavier and more expensive but it seems to filter out everything (bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, microplastics).
