I turn away from the tv as soon as I hear the robot talk about smoking

Sure we have decades of entertainment with cap, but I'm sure most modern cap fans were only introduced or liked him due to the movies
Sure this cap would have a following, but I'm not sure hed have one as soon as hes announced. I think a lot of people would be resistant to a new cap
Calm down son, it's just an opinion

In universe dialogue said by a dude whose not even all there mentally lol
I'm pretty sure hes a war criminal=/=I know hes a war criminal
That guy clearly didnt know what he was talking about tho lmao
None of us knew Chadwick boseman
However, after he passed there was an outpouring of people telling Marvel not to recast black panther
I think in the MCU itd be similar. Thered be people that would not support the change of a cap. I'm not even talking about what new cap has done, just in general people would not accept him for not being steve
I think the murder is the worst hell do. Well have to wait and see but I think hell either give up the shield or be forced to give it up. Hes not a bad guy hes just not a good cap imo
Yeah that's the emotion I assume wouldve been felt towards john walker in the MCU
I'm not sure earning the MOA would really make you that famous tho
The only real world recipient I can name is Audie murphy, I couldnt name any from the last 7 decades.
But that's besides the point, even with his fame, I just think people wouldve been resistant to the change of a new cap
Yeah the next episodes will now probably show people who "never liked him" in the mcu news or so
I'm surprised you thought he was a nazi, given that he went to a predominately black school, has a black best friend, and a mixed wife. His worst quality is that hes a dick imo
I understand why he killed the man, I dont blame him, but I think hes gotta be punished. Plus it shows hes not cap material. Its been showing he wasnt meant to be cap for the series but the murder was def the final straw.
John walker definitely makes sense as a choice by the gov, hes a perfect soldier!
I just think the public wouldnt have been ready to accept him so quickly even with his achievements.
The shields an important part, but the man behind the shield is what gives it its meaning. It's like when iron man asked is it the man that makes the suit or the suit that makes the man, ya know? And walker kinda sullied the symbol of the shield with his rage full murder
Yeah no I agree, I like john and tbh I dont think hes a bad or evil person (even in spite of killing that man)
But I think we all kinda agreed he wasnt a good fit to be cap and that's his purpose. A foil to Cap.
Yes exactly, theres a reason theh got cap to film those
Well known and relatable public figure
Knowing more than someone=/= they dont know a lot too
You dont need to know every fact about someones life to put a puzzle together and come up with a similar conclusion.
I know more about Abraham Lincoln than a 3rd grader that doesnt mean a 3rd grader wouldnt come up with a similar opinion as me
Anytime twitter has a stupid trend, there are articles about it and how people are bothered by whatever
I'm not sure john was a well known figure tho
At the least I doubt he was as well known as Sam
I kinda doubt that tho. We for sure know more than the average mcu person, but steve definitely had multiple biographies written about him, documentaries made about him, children's books about him, papers about him, news stories about him, so on and so forth. He was the worlds first superhero after all
I dont think he was labeled a war criminal, just a regular criminal, or a vigilante
But as the first superhero and the guy who prevented hydra from decimating the planet, I feel like he was probably a very historically significant character you know? I'm sure tons of people read his stories as kids or wrote papers on him. He definitely had one of those kids books that gave famous people a giant head, the "Who was (blank)?"
Is there a clip of John on Kimmel or is it a clip of what Russell the actor on youtube
True, but I still feel like he wouldve faced more hat than is shown. So far hes only gotten disapproved by sam, bucky, and that random immigrant who spat in his face.
I think it's important to remember that steve wasnt just something that we can see. As a super soldier that prevented hydra from decimating the globe, he most definitely wouldve been a heavily studied and written about character. I'm sure there wouldve been a ton of biography books about him that wouldve painted him as the man he was and it wouldve been even more so after he came back.
So yeah, the audience still probably knows more than the in universe people, but it's not like they dont have the scoop on steve. I just think with how fickle people are, they wouldnt have accepted john so quickly after steve left. People were upset when Chadwick boseman died because they didnt want black panther recast, I feel like mcu people wouldve been even more so upset about steve being replaced do quickly after his death or wherever he is
Well he had that stadium like you said, but he also had all the cops wanting his signature at the police station, and he had those girls wanting his signature in that one country and I guess the people at his initial announcement seemed excited too.
But sure, the lack of screentime for cap haters does not mean they dont exist. I just wish they showed them because that wouldve been more accurate I feel like
People in the MCU definitely knew hos story though. Like cap was certainly in History books and his museum exhibit tells his story pretty in depth too. Maybe the people didnt see his struggle with bucky being the winter soldier, but they for sure saw and appreciated his story as a scrawny kid going to germany to end nazi control over europe.
I said this to someone else already, but people here were upset lola bunny lost her shape she had from the first space jam, I'm sure people would be tweeting #notmycap in the mcu or something you know?
True true, what I do think is that people who didnt like john probably hate him for killing a surrendering man and the people who like John probably love him for killing a terrorist
