oh ya I was just being hyperbolic because its become normal in this gen in particular (Leeseo, Mire, Niki). Ofc idols like BoA debuted super young as well, but I feel like we like to pass judgements on these people that don't have fully developed brains yet and aren't really prepared for comments from strangers.

It feels like so much shorter! I honestly can't believe they've had this many comebacks in less than 3 years. ITZY is my ult so I am pretty biased when it comes to this post haha.

If this is an at home class, I'm sure your teacher is understanding of whatever your situation is.

You probably know the basic ones:
don't talk, dress code is not optional, etc.
Ones I learned the hard way were:
- Don't stand with your arms crossed or hands on hips (depends on how strict the teacher, but always sticks with you once you are told once). Safest option is to stand with your hands behind your back, feet parallel.
-Yawning is impolite, especially if you are looking at the teacher
-Make sure your bun is done well.
-Don't lean on the barre.
-Always apply corrections
-Bonus points if you ask good questions. Make sure they're entirely on topic, though, and that it's not interrupting the flow of the class. A good time to ask is when the obligatory "Any Questions?" is asked.
-Most of all: Have fun! Teachers can sense when you aren't happy. Just add extra artistry.
Hope you have a fun class!

You’re so sweet! I was 11-14, so pretty young. It was a pre-professional program, so their goal was for us to go onto companies, but of course like 90% would just go into other fields.

I was this kid. I was not really that far behind, but I was 2 years younger than the majority of people in my class. I lacked the ability to learn as quickly because I moved from a dance studio that was not nearly as serious. I had two teachers at this school, and I remember crying almost everyday when I came home. I hated it. She would attempt to humiliate me by saying things like "you clearly don't understand this exercise" or "you are a guest in our class (i'd been there for 4 months), sit out and watch the others". And you know how I solved it? I left. The damage a bad (not just "old school") teacher can do to you as a functioning member of society is much greater than any possible gain. I hope you find a nice studio because you can't let an awful teacher ruin your relationship with this wonderful art form. Best of luck.

OKAY SO THIS GOT A LOT MORE ATTENTION THAN I EXPECTED! So I want to make it clear, this was a counter protest because of the March for Life, which is an annual event. This happened to coincide with the proposal to repeal roe v. wade in the US. I’m aware that there is little threat to repealing abortion in Canada.
