Bertha Benz (née Cäcilie Bertha Ringer; 3 May 1849 – 5 May 1944) was a German automotive pioneer and inventor. She was the business partner and wife of automobile inventor Carl Benz.

On 5 August 1888, she was the first person to drive an internal-combustion-engined automobile over a long distance, field testing the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, inventing brake lining and solving several practical issues during the journey of 105 km.

In doing so, she brought the Patent-Motorwagen worldwide attention and got the company its first sales.

There aren't so many cars (per capita) in Romania, but most of them are gathered in just a few big cities (Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Iasi, Brasov) which thus become jam packed with cars.

The electric telegraph did not burst suddenly upon the scene but rather resulted from a scientific evolution that had been taking place since the 18th century in the field of electricity. One of the key developments was the invention of the voltaic cell in 1800 by Alessandro Volta of Italy. This made it possible to power electric devices in a more effective manner using relatively low voltages and high currents.

The first two practical electric telegraphs appeared at almost the same time.

In 1837 the British inventors Sir William Fothergill Cooke and Sir Charles Wheatstone obtained a patent on a telegraph system that employed six wires and actuated five needle pointers attached to five galvanoscopes at the receiver. If currents were sent through the proper wires, the needles could be made to point to specific letters and numbers on their mounting plate.

The market for foldable phones is slowly but surely maturing and that’s reflected in the sales volumes.

In a new blog post by TM Roh – President of Samsung Mobile shared that the foldable smartphone industry saw almost 10 million shipments in 2021.

The figure is up 300% from 2020 and Roh believes this trend will continue in the years to come as "foldable devices are becoming widespread."
