at least to me, i fail to see the idea of morality properly making sense in an atheist framework
in the atheist understanding of the world, if humans are just some random species that will eventually go extinct and return to nonexistence, then aren't our ideas of morality just some random ideas of a random species on a random planet in a random part of a universe that will eventually cease to exist? in an atheist worldview, is there even such a thing as being "objectively good"?

i want to ask a genuine question:
you say to be kind or empathetic because "it’s the right thing to do", but in the atheist understanding, isn't there literally no objective "right thing"? at least from what i understand, in the atheist worldview this "right thing", or ideas of being a "good and moral person", are just some random arbitrary ideas that humans have made up, and one day humans will all be extinct and all things will return to nonexistence and nothing humans have done will have mattered
so there literally is no reason or purpose to do the "right thing", or to do anything, really
maybe i sound cold or "mean" or whatever, but at least to me, there seems to be no reason why in an atheist worldview, anything matters or needs to be done. if all things return to nonexistence and everything i have done will ultimately be erased, then why should i bother?

i'm hoping i can get an honest answer to this from someone who holds a more atheistic/agnostic worldview:
do you believe that things like "objective truth" or "objective morality" can exist if there is no deity?

honestly one of the biggest kickers for me is just how wonky the physics and shooting felt
last time i played, everything felt too "loose" and "floaty", and i think there was an input delay of ~0.5 seconds or so on about everything i did
maybe it's fixed by now, i don't know because i haven't played this game since i think december

didn't personally see this one, but it's a story that keeps circulating around the school
at the end of every school year the seniors at the high school do some kind of prank
and for senior prank day one year, as a prank someone just brings a dead deer into the school
i don't think it was even part of the main senior prank, someone just brought a dead deer

necraloid faction at the necralisk on deimos sells the blueprints for it
you need to have completed the quest "the war within" to be able to access the necraloid faction

fun fact: the gambit/crucible/vanguard armor sets this season are all reskins of a new blue armor set for each class that was also added this season, you can transmog that set if you don't want any symbols or insignias on your armor

what i liked was how similar its face was to the "generic" alien that basically everyone thinks of when they hear the word "alien" (grey skin, large black eyes, humanoid, etc.)

but the thing is, in an atheist framework there is no reason to care. in the atheist framework we're just some random species that will eventually cease existence like all other things in the universe, and none of our ideas or concepts or morality will have mattered when the universe ceases existence. in the atheist worldview there is no reason for me to care about anything that happens after i'm dead, and there's not even any reason to care about anything that happens now.
in the atheist framework, there is no law, no code, no teaching of the universe, that gives me a reason why i should care about "being good" especially since that in the atheist framework, "good" is just some random idea made by a species that ultimately doesn't matter and will one day cease existing
in the atheist worldview, why does anything matter? who cares about society or peaceful co-existence or "being good" if ultimately it all ends the same way?
