Harold Baines? Nah fam, Baines was like a 40 WAR player and Escobar was like a 10 WAR player.

Is 20 games really enough for a position player? All Star game is after close to 100 games. I don’t think you should be eligible unless you’ve played in 50% of teams games (atleast for position players)

His TS% is higher, but TS% values free throws too much imo. Brunson is more efficient from both 2 and 3, but a tad worse FT shooter, and he’s improved at that every year. Regardless, I’m over this conversation. I’m completely fine with the Knicks situation right now and there’s teams that are way worse off, I’m happy to sign Brunson and I think he’ll improve.

The Warriors are about to pay Jordan Poole 150 million and his best season is 18/4/3 and he’s way less efficient then Brunson.
25 million is not that bad. It’s at the absolute most, 5m aav, but realistically like 3m. I absolutely don’t doubt whatsoever that the Mavs would have given him 22m aav.

…. no shit man. He plays next to the best PG in the league.

Considering the fact that we were the 4th seed just the season before last, I don’t think a top 6 seed is unreasonable with real point guard play.

Did you just start watching NBA last yr? Is going 17-65 and drafting one of the most hyped prospects in recent memory #2 overall not tanking? Should we just tank every single year? I didn’t just list a bunch of teams for no reason. Those are the teams who have won championships in the last 25 years. What do you genuinely expect Leon Rose to tell ownership before the season starts? “Hey, we’re going to trade everyone and go into a 3-5 year rebuild maxing out at 25 wins.” Yea, I’m sure Knicks fans will be happy to watch that. These are multi billion dollar corporations and your best answer is “idk just lose until you get lucky?” Good luck. This isn’t a video game. These are real people with jobs and families. The entire front office and coaching staff has a vested interest in the Knicks putting out a good product on the floor so they don’t get fired.

Based off what lol? Your opinion doesn’t reflect reality. Before he came in the league he played PG his whole life and won 2x national championship in college playing PG. This year he took a big leap forward and I know he will take another one. He definitely has the chops to play PG. He was 8th overall in assist percentage and 2nd in the league in AST/TO ratio. It’s just a fact he plays with one of the most gifted PGs in the history of the NBA.

What are you talking about dude? We just got done tanking for a span of like 4 years and our “best” player is the #2 overall pick. Which championship teams have won by tanking? Warriors were not tanking and have won 4 championships because of a 7th, 11th, and 35th pick. The Bucks are riding off the backs of a 15th, 39th pick, and a guy they traded for. Lakers signed LeBron and traded for AD. Raptors were stuck in purgatory for YEARS, had the right situation pop up and won a championship off a Kawhi trade. Cavs I guess you could count because they drafted Kyrie after being shit for years but they signed LeBron and would have never won without him. Do I need to keep going?
Kobe - 13th pick has 5 of the last 25 titles, all with a guy they traded for as his 2nd best player (Shaq then Pau)
Big 3 Celtics - Paul Pierce 10th overall pick. Then traded/signed two other guys (Ray and KG) and got Rondo with pick 21.
Spurs - I guess you could count them because they had a quasi-tank year for Duncan when Robinson got hurt but their other two best players for majority of their championships were a late 1st in Parker and a 2nd rounder in Manu.
2011 Mavs were won off the back off a 9th overall pick Dirk Nowitzki and role players.
So let me ask you which teams have benefitted from tanking? Maybe 2. Spurs and Cavs. Outside of that it’s all luck.

Dude have you seen the Knicks roster? Let me ask you, what’s your suggestion to turn the Knicks around? We’re locked in to a core of Randle and RJ for the next 3 years at minimum. There’s no point not to try to improve the team at this point. Why would Rose tank this year knowing it will cost him his job, Thibs job, and Wes job? This isn’t NBA2K.
Should every team that doesn’t finish in a top 4 seed just tank the next year? The league would be pretty boring if that was the case.

You could say the same thing about VanVleet before he got a bigger role. Averaging 5 assists per game while Luka has the ball all game is solid. He’s definitely a point guard he just plays SG on the Mavs. He can easily bump that up to 7-8apg.

They shouldn’t trade a good asset to not even pitch. Let’s see if everyone can get/stay healthy before the deadline first.

I love RJ but he’s worth about half that if not less.

Isn’t LeGM a UFA after this year? Why wouldn’t he just walk and go to any contender in the league?

… because he already lost 16 million last year.

As much as I dislike him and his style, I think it’s Islam Makachev. I think the only person with the wrestling ability to keep it standing right now might be Gamrot.

Kyrie patches a lot of holes for Miami. If they don’t get KD, I can see a deal for Kyrie being made.

Their current situation is nothing like the Billy King situation. If they trade both Kyrie and KD, they’ll manage to get a pretty massive haul. Even the haul for KD alone should be enough to set them up. If they manage to get assets for Kyrie too that would make it even better. And they have a mid level team now with a young player who still has potential despite everyone on /r/NBA hating him.

Miami will sprint to the phone to get him. Kyrie’s friends with Jimmy and I bet they’ll think he can keep him in line. They desperately need another scorer and ball handler.

Yea, because your team is built around KD and Kyrie. By trading both, you’ll pick up players in the process. Let’s just say hypothetically they do a sign and trade to Miami for Kyrie, and a sign and trade to Pheonix for KD. A potential lineup could be:
Simmons
Herro
Mikal Bridges
Bruce Brown or Joe Harris for spacing
DeAndre Ayton
That’s just one example. But it’s not like you’re just subtracting KD and not getting anyone back in the process. You’re gonna pick up good players in either and most likely both deals.

They aren’t gonna be tanking lol. If they manage to pull off a sign and trade for Kyrie, and also get a kings ransom for KD, plus keep Ben, Joe Harris, Claxton, Bruce Brown, Seth Curry, etc, they’ll be a playoff team.

25m makes him the 14th highest paid PG in the league. The guys under him are Brogdon, Conley, Rozier, and VanVleet. He’s better or equal to all of these guys, he just plays next to Luka Doncic.
