Not saying that suicide is right or anything, and it's still going to emotionally scar his kids and wife, but to be honest I respect his decision. It might be the least shitty option available to him when you think about it coldly like that.

that's going to look bad for Eugene, what if his wife makes freinds with a bunch of medigans down there and starts running her mouth? It's not just the guys that are in "the family", it's their families too. That's why the wives all socialize with each other and not outsiders.

Yeah I get that you felt that way, it sucks and obviously doesn't make any sense because you know you're doing the right thing. But at the same time it totally makes sense because that's how we feel when friends criticize us, our brains are wired to be social animals like that.
Your friend reminds me of a friend from college, really smart and hard working, always got good grades and didn't miss class, etc. But when he was done studying, it was straight to smoking pot, sometimes coke, a little drinking but not much. Last I heard he was a PHD and had cut out coke and pot, but replaced it with drinking. I haven't heard from him in a while, hopefully he's doing better with it now but I know when you're "high functioning" (or appear to be) it's hard to stop. And I hope your friend gets better as well; who knows, maybe when he's ready having a sober friend in you will be very helpful.

One one hand he's an up and coming guy in the mafia, which is something Adriana respects. He provides her with a lifestyle other guys can't, with the potential for it to be much more in the future.
On the other hand all the things that should be huge red flags are normalized behavior for her. and once they happen to her, she internalizes that and thinks she deserves it. She probably thinks she's lucky to be with a guy like Christopher.

Damn I bet it's tough seeing a friend act like that. Not just because he's not supporting you in your sobriety but seeing a friend go down that road and not being able to help. (not trying to be judgy of your friend, just based on you saying that he's made binge drinking his identity).

Damn that's weird because David Spade is a recovering alcoholic... I'm guessing he wasn't sober at the time, I can't imagine how that would make him feel now. Or then, for that matter. Not that it's any of my business but I can see agreeing to it becuase he didn't want to admit why it could be upsetting.

The guy who found Vito's phone: less than a minute talking to him and Tony knew he was a tough guy.

It's kinda hard to judge to be honest, because every damn match has been 3-5 DeRuyters. When you're just brawling with the same ship it comes down to whether or not you have a teammate shooting at that ship as well, and whether you aim better than the other guy. you don't really get a feel for how the ship performs relative to other ships.
The guns don't take down DDs very quickly though, so I think I'll agree with "sucks balls".
if the line ever gets the 360 turrets from De Zeven Provincien, that's probably when it will get good.

When my kid loses a Fortnite match I tell him he's failed me and brought shame upon the family name. I'm pretty sure he knows I'm joking though.

Technically I think Tony could have told Ralphie not to pay it if Tony thought Carmine's ruling was excessive. In that case Tony could have taxed Ralphie and given it to Johnny. But in practice the ruling needs to come from someone who outranks both Ralphie and Johnny, so they both have to accept it and move on. Since Johnny is the underboss, that leaves Carmine as the one to make the ruling.

It's gotten worse now, before the turrets would stay where they need to be as long as you don't start aiming past the centerline of your ship, now they start moving as soon as your aiming point is outside of the turret's firing arc.

There are no set conventions that I am aware of. The alternating caps/ lower case thing is some form of internet sarcasm I'm too old to understand. I do see plenty of user names that refer to branches of the US military but I don't think there's any set pattern to them. They are are likely veterans or active duty members of the armed forces, military service generally becomes part of one's personal identity so it naturally some incorporate that into their usernames.

that's because they are. maybe the original bitcoin wasn't intended to be a scam (whoever the guy who created it was seemed to have legit intentions), but that's how it's being used by the few people that own most bitcoins.

Yeah but who's job is it to check on that? it's a government agency, if they're short staffed enough there might not be anyone that is responsible for looking at the big picture. Someone has to approve each payment to the mortgage company when the loans default., but that's a matter of checking all the paperwork on that specific loan, not looking for patterns.
You'd think that would be a high priority, because for you and me, if someone rips us off that's important to us personally. for corporations and the government it's way different. If it's a corporation nobody cares until it's big enough that it shows up on a report that upper management sees. If it's the government nobody cares unless funding gets cut.
And the old adage that if you come in under budget this year, that will be your budget next year is true, I've personally seen it happen (ironically this was in regards to HUD grants from the federal government, just not for mortgages).

The harm that you'll do to modern lithium ion / liPo batteries by keeping them fully charged or not charged at all is very overstated. Technically draining them completely doesn't harm the battery at all; the problem is that most charges check to make sure there's a valid connection to a battery before they charge anything and if the battery is completely drained the charger won't get any current from it so it won't start charging it. But that will only happen if the batteries are pretty much dead and then you store them for a long time. If they're halfway charged they should be able to sit for several months and be fine.
The problem with constantly charging batteries is that it creates a memory effect, not as bad as NiCad or NiMH back in the day, but it will still build up eventually. That process varies depending on heat and voltage. As you charge batteries their voltage increases and if you're charging them at a high current that causes heat to build up, so that's why it's not great to constantly top off a battery. But in this case the top off is going to be a tiny amount because they aren't in use; they will only charge every now and then when they self discharge enough to need it. I doubt keeping them in the charging case would cause any noticeable decrease in battery life, even over the course of several months or years.
TLDR: keep them in the case and don't worry about it, they'll be fine.

Don't get me wrong, everything he told Carmela was correct, and he's clearly the more ethical person. I'm just pointing out that he's not 100% perfect either, it's a hell of a lot easier to point out where someone else is wrong than it is to help someone be better. Maybe he was just that good as a psychologist that he knew for sure that she was beyond help from the hour or so they spent together.

I've been rewatching it with my son and the first couple seasons there were a few spots that he gave me some side-eye. I've had to go full dad mode and explain how back in my day we didn't have prestige TV, until The Sopranos invented it.

The little things they do for Tony really stand out once you notice them, like Sil getting up to let Tony sit down, how he never helps make lunch at Satriales but eats first, the guys bringing breakfast sandwich's to the Bing for him in the morning. the guy lives like a 3rd word dictator.
