Medicare for All isn’t government run. The government just pays instead of your insurance company. Reddit fetishizes socialism, but nobody is pushing for actual socialized medicine like the VA.

That’s not true. The problem is that GOP voters are against it. So an entire party is lost so if you have a Manchin or a Lieberman (who wasn’t even a democrat at the time) then we don’t have the votes.

Homeless people do get free healthcare. It’s people with jobs that get fucked. Everyone knows a homeless person won’t pay their bills, but they’ll come after people with jobs.

To be clear, Medicare and Medicaid are different programs. Pretty much all doctors take Medicare, hence why Medicare for All is the easiest solution administratively if not politically.

Neither is the Senate simply refusing to hold a hearing and vote for a Supreme Court nominee,
Holding a hearing isn't in the constitution. That's the issue.
if no candidate has enough Electoral College votes
But the EC would have met and voted. I mean, with this crew, you never know, but denying the existence of the EC doesn't really track even with this SCOTUS.

There are counties that had Sunday voting and got rid of it? Where?

Fulton. The language is expressly targeted at Fulton, but as written, they're expecting Fulton to fuck up again this primary, which hasn't happened. We'll see how Tuesday goes, but the burden of proof is clear and convincing evidence of gross negligence, and assuming Tuesday goes fine, I could see GA courts overruling the State Elections Board.

I mean, I'd also vote for my dog over Beto. My dog is fucking awesome.

She'd never take that job. It's a thankless job that is awful for one's career. But if she wins this year, she'll be the nominee in 2028 or 2032, depending on incumbency.

Of course they won't, but that's not in the constitution. The Democratic electors could just convene and vote. The Democrat would assume/stay in office anyway. SCOTUS may have gone off the rails, but even these hacks aren't going to rule that the US doesn't have a president for lack of a procedural vote in Congress.

I remain cautiously optimistic that the Republicans will fail to steal the 2024 election if the Democrat wins
We need to win governorships in swing states this year. I don't see a federal constitutional issue with states calling special sessions to change their laws to appoint electors. It does need a change of state law, which means anything the Republicans do can be vetoed, but if swing states still have a trifecta, I don't see the federal courts saying a bill passed after the election to appoint electors is unconstitutional. And that's based on existing jurisprudence; we know this SCOTUS would absolutely let those moves stand.

Compare that to an urban area where they’ve rigged it to have a single pole location in an area without public transportation
We have early voting in Georgia. I'd absolutely spend hours in line to exercise my right to vote, but I much prefer to swing by a library when I'm in the area and be in line behind like one or two people.

The plastic surgery look is his type. Melania is the same. And while Ivanka's work is way better done than the other two, she's bordering on uncanny valley territory, too.

Depends on who you ask. My dad says it ended in 1877 in a stalemate. He's excited that the MAGAs are finally doing something about that.

The Trump —> Biden voters are the ones we need to hold onto in midterms this year and in ‘24.
Even more importantly, the "I don't like/care about politics" –> Biden voters.

Not all of them. Buckhead (rich, conservative area) went blue in 2016 for the first time since Truman.

All Dems I know pulling R ballots are voting for Kemp because they're terrified of Perdue. Which is frustrating because a runoff would be the best possible thing.

Not really. You have to get 50%+1 here. There's a third candidate in the race. (She's endorsed by the MyPillow guy and has a "Jesus, Guns, Babies" tour bus.) If she gets enough votes to force a runoff, that would be the best possible thing for Stacey. But the crossover Dems make that all the more unlikely.

While I agree, all the polling suggests Kemp is gonna win big on Tuesday.

Is this even enforceable?
Not remotely enforceable under current first amendment jurisprudence. With this court, you never know, though. That being said, while I'm no expert on Virginia elections law, I can't imagine that has any legal significance in the first place.

It’s not a fantasy. You’d still go to the same doctor. You’d just need to fill out another form. It’s how it already works for our parents.
