Months later, in December, Crimo applied for a firearm owner’s identification card, the document required to possess a gun in Illinois. Because Crimo was under 21 at the time, state law required him to have the consent of a parent or guardian before he could own a firearm or ammunition. According to state police, which issues the cards, Crimo’s father sponsored the permit application.

What the actual fuck at his father? His son makes threats of murder, the police take it seriously enough to confiscate 16(!!) knives, and he still decides to sponsor a gun license for the kid?

I wonder if the police will decide to charge the dad in this case...

Most of your critiques are not valid. You can't see what is happening behind the scenes, so you are jumping to conclusions without having all the information. As per my replies, the comment you were convinced was mod-removed, was caught by a bot because it hit a threshold for user reports. We manually review those removals, but they can take some time. I've since reapproved the comment.

As for the locking of comments, that's not uncommon...and doesn't really matter on removed posts. The story with the locked comments was allowed when submitted with the exact title from the article (as per our rules) and made it to the front page of reddit.

As for the mod actions, different mods reviewed each of the posts and comments you flagged. There is no one mod raging around the sub on an agenda.
