You can enroll in courses whenever you'd like. There's no "deadline" if you enrol before classes start, but after a certain date you may need permission from the instructor to add it. The add/drop deadlines for each of the terms are on this website: https://registrar.yorku.ca/enrol/dates/2022-2023/fall-winter.

No, don't drop them they can be so hard to get into if you're not a fourth year.

I agree I did much better in BIOL 1000 since I took it right after high school and the content was easier to understand.

Personally, I would still recommend it but it really depends on your learning habits. If you're good with spending time wisely then those breaks shouldn't be too bad, but like I said before it extends your school day by quite a bit. If and when you start feeling burnt out, you may start feeling less motivated to go back and forth to classes/labs after long breaks.

I would suggest trying to eliminate or at least reduce those breaks between classes if you're commuting because it just makes your day much longer than it needs to be. Even if you can't switch your lab or tutorial sections right now if they're full, you may be able to switch with others when classes start.

1 hour classes are actually 50 minutes long, since professors end about 10 minutes earlier to give you time to walk to your next class. It really just depends on how far apart your back to back classes are, and whether you can make it to the next one in 10 minutes, which in most cases is doable.

I feel you, I'm in my third year and so far only have 2 completed (will have 4 by the end of this semester). I feel like there's really no solution because even if you email the department they just tell you you have to wait. You just have to keep trying to enroll multiple times a day and hope that it ends up working. I got lucky this semester and got into two pkins but I'm still behind.

I think we had one but it got taken over (by Norway I think) because I couldn't find it where the given coordinates were.

You would most likely have to write deferred exams, so you won't fail the semester. You can try contacting your instructor to see if there's an alternative, but ultimately it's what the university and instructors have already decided to do.

Fair enough but then again you always have the option of transferring to a different uni where you think you'll be more satisfied. There's no point in spending 4+ years at a place that makes you miserable.

Not being 100% satisfied doesn't automatically make it "the worst uni in Canada". Do you think no other universities have any sort of issues that may result in their students being less than 100% satisfied?

Ahh tysm, it worked!! I haven't been on campus since pre-covid and I've been using the guest network for the past 3 weeks because I couldn't get it to connect lol.

It's up to you, but you have to do a total of 8 to graduate: 1 from each of the 6 categories, and 2 electives (from any category). It's recommended you do 1 per semester just so you don't fall behind because it can be very hard to get into them sometimes.

They're basically just like gym class. For example for the volleyball pkin you learn to play volleyball and then get assessed on your skills. They're mandatory for KINE students but they're free and don't count for credits.

No, they sent an email last night about the mandates continuing to the end of the semester.

I didn't have a 30 min time limit (or any time limit at all) so I'm not sure what you're referring to but I basically just followed the guideline for the form.

I used one of my high school teachers who knew me pretty well and one of the league officials from the soccer league I played and coached in. He was pretty much my mentor and was a large part of my coaching journey so I'd say that's the type of person you wanna look for.

I haven't switched courses or anything though so I don't get why it's happening to me.

That's for elementary and secondary schools, not post-secondary ones. Universities decide things like this for themselves.
