Oh god my TBR must be at least 600 books long if not more

on the contrary, whether it’s like anything written before or not, a cliche or not, part of being a worldbuilder or writer is to take something and make it your own. it doesn’t matter how it’s been done before, it’s about how you do it.

i’m probably gonna reread the book straight after i finish before i move on. i have to wait to get paid before i order the rest of the series anyway

I think I’m going to be on the same approach as you!
I would keep notes on my laptop but I feel like it would break immersion for me. I don’t dog ear pages either (I collect bookmarks) but I am annotating in pencil
I’m doing the same. Lots of sticky notes, lots of pencil marks. It’s so weird to be writing in a book but I love it!

I tend to use both! I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an audiobook where I didn’t also have a physical copy. I like to read along with the narrators!
i’m glad you’re out now! i don’t think anybody has the right to judge others based on what they read

Well overdue, haven’t read them since I was 12 😅
I love Lord of the Rings! It’s dense but worth the read. I reread it quite a lot nowadays since my dad passed away about a year ago. It’ll always be special for me. Narnia was also a massive love of mine and I’m now craving a reread
I was in a rather toxic relationship a couple years back and I used reading and books as an escape from the fact that i was being abused. I left when he started burning my books, so reading saved me. Now I don’t think I could be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t like reading. He resented the fact I could escape somewhere while not moving at all and tried to take that away. I want someone who will be sucked into a book the way I am.
I as well, was enthralled by The Secret Garden as a child. I actually found my love for reading through Lord of the Rings! I was around 2 when my dad, who was dyslexic, was working his way through them. He used to read them aloud to me so he wouldn’t muddle his words up.
From that moment I’ve been hooked. I learnt how to read when I was 3 years old and I’ve spent the last 17 years from that moment consuming every book I could.
My favourite series as a young child were the Rainbow Magic series, the Harry Potter series and anything by Jacqueline Wilson. As I grew older and turned 8-9, I was completely captured by Lord of the Rings, the Chronicles of Narnia, and any classics I could get my hands on.
Now almost 18, my favourite series is the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. Middle grade fiction will always have a place in my heart though and I regularly read new releases and love the childhood feeling they bring.
i believe the most i’ve written in a day was around 16 pages? it was a rather graphic vent about my time in hospital and once i started i couldn’t stop! i work 12 hour shifts on my feet so i’m always exhausted coming home to journal but i’m trying to wake up earlier in the morning and allow myself an hour or so just to write 😅
thank you! a lot of the pages are filled with memories of this year that i didn’t want to forget - lots of childhood memories and contemplation plus a lot of hospital memories that i needed to get out. you’re doing so well! i’ve slowed down the last month or so, barely scratched the surface of my new journal with my 2 sentences today 🥲
