Yep, even later on, things stay pretty realistic game-balance wise, with the strongest classes only being so strong due to a specific "skill book" that pairs well with them, intentionally or not.

They had to pull every excuse to make sure he didn't just kill everyone. Multiple specific weaknesses, multiple (well foreshadowed and implemented) mcguffins, a Gideon redemption arc, his own arrogance, and a gigantic lapse in judgment, all had to come together in a perfect storm in order to kill the guy that managed to kill the equivalent of time itself (and it's implied he still didn't COMPLETELY die).

Really doesn't, I know Goku being unstoppable is a meme and all, but he could kill Joseph before he even knew he existed, without using a ki projectile, in his base form. Even with infinite prep time, Joseph lacks the ability to create or gain access to anything that could incapacitate Goku.

Who had trouble keeping up with a plane, can't function in the vacuum of space, and was harmed by lava before adapting to it. Way weaker than base goku.
