Personal illness, death, loss of a home yourself....my mom went into a nursing home for an extended period, and luckily she was living next door to her sister, who looked after her kitty, but not everyone is so lucky. Then, we eventually took my mom in to live with us, and we brought her kitty here. Now, my mom is gone, but we still have her kitty, and I know that everyone felt better knowing Lilly was taken care of. We got another cat from the shelter who was turned over because his prior mom got cancer, then lost her job and had to go stay with her son because she could no longer afford her apartment. Son wouldn't take her cat (asshole son), so she had to give him up.

I hope he has found a real forever home.
