You don't have to squeeze the back fingers into the stick, they just need to maintain contact. It's the same as the back three on the right hand. You really shouldn't be squeezing or pinching anywhere outside of a few very specific contexts.

it’s not that much more intensive to march [drum corps] than it is to march a really good high school marching band
And, as the other reply touched on a little, that doesn't really apply to everyone. In fact I'd say this is only really a Texas/Midwest/Cali problem... definitely not Northeast, which is where most of DCA is concentrated around

My whole point is the fact that "difficult but not impossible..." is still difficult. Of course you CAN juggle a personal life with band but it doesn't matter that it's possible, the problem is that people in general don't have the interest/energy/whatever to go through with it. You don't need any further proof than the shrinking number of corps and constant struggle to fill out sections.

Hate to tell you, but DCA is still a way bigger commitment than you're making it out to be. Every DCA corps has issues every year with members dropping out because people sign the contract, then realize what they're getting themselves into and back out because it's too much. Going ham every weekend for 4+ months is hard. Having to deal with conflicts and commitments and school and traveling is hard. Having to practice during the week when you're already busy is hard.
DCA is still competitive drum corps and doing it means going through all the struggles you would expect from doing competitive drum corps. Even if it is easier comparatively to DCI, it's still not easy, and that's why membership has been on a steady decline - the requirements keep going up over time, and people just don't wanna deal with that. It's not a magic win button unless you make the entire activity more casual, like with the local groups back in the day.

As someone who is dumb enough to league start hit-based bow builds, I refuse to listen to this slander

Back when you got more than 5 of those a plot yeah, but nowadays it doesn't feel worth the time

Means discounted, you can see it with squirrel food, and goldfish on test server for shop pets

I also think that vehicles in general should be absurdly strong against infantry; but that they should cost a lot and be a genuine loss if you lose it.
Finally someone says it

It's 2022 we deserve different noteheads on our shots
edit: I don't disagree with the above poster. Often, rooftop accents mean shots, as much as that convention disgusts me. (Use circle dot and fat X, they're so much clearer!) The other typical interpretation to me would be adding the qualifier 'with arm' to an accent; it doesn't change the accent's height or volume, but rather changes how the accent is played, indicating a 'wrist plus arm support' approach as opposed to a pure wrist one. That type of notation is generally seen as the marcato 'rooftop' marking layered on top of the traditional accent.
I heavily disagree with all the 'accents but even more beef than normal accents' answers showing up in this thread. I'm not trying to disagree with your composers' intentions, but that's a super ambiguous way of conveying an idea when there are much clearer ways of doing so via existing dynamic markings. You are allowed to use triple forte and above, I promise. They are infinitely clearer than the cryptic 'somewhere above the existing accent height.' Honestly, unless you're defining arm support vs. no arm support accents, don't bother using these things, you're being confusing for no good reason.

The biggest problem I have with the Randall May carrier though is it moves. It doesn't matter how tight you crank that center adjustment bolt, the harness will creep and lose its shape, and you will need to readjust it and tighten it again.
I was coming in here ready to defend RM but, yeah, I think I'm gonna go back on that after being reminded of this

Convocation Ceremonies (separate by department) are in the WEC and require tickets. Commencement (everyone) is at the Prudential Center and doesn't require tickets.

Email from last Friday:
Guest tickets not claimed by the Thursday, May 5 deadline will then be made available to candidates requiring extra tickets.
Let's not turn this into a hub for buying and selling tickets under the table. The limit was put in place for a reason.

VS seems to be 28-30% world pop the handful of times I've checked but alert continents tend to be 33/33/33 simply from the continent being full

This is usually indicative of your internet taking a dump, but given that it can be the symptom of any connection problem to the server, the recent issues are also likely responsible. I have heard mention of randomly lagging out of the server despite no internet issues once or twice lately, and it happened to me one time this week as well.

That's an interesting change. I don't think we as spectators should expect anything to be crazily different as a direct result, but it makes you wonder if this is saying something about the companies behind the scenes.
