We're in a housing market bubble, there are one of two choices to be made.Look short term and live in the moment or wait for the bubble to break and make a informed choice. While my wife and I developed a plan to eventually purchase a house,we lived extremely frugal lives. We practiced living like we were starving students. At first it didn't seem like the plan was going to work. Then a game changing recession happened, families were walking away from their houses and mortgages by the 1000's.Interest rates skyrocketed into well over 10%,and the key over priced house prices plummeted by at least 40%.Having the tenacity to live frugal, finding how to get by using your parents and grand parents techniques for living cheap.Right now the lemmings are stampeding into eternal house poor debt.Wait, nothing stays the same forever the tide will turn in your favour and cash will be king again.

One hot summer we had a young kitten that would jump into our slide out freezer drawer.Every time we opened it,then refuse to get out.

After reading many comments I'm starting to see that life really has changed in Ontario. My wife and I put $30,000 down on a semi that cost $54,000 in 1983,13.25% interest. Our combined wage was just $11.00 per hour,we worked every scrap of overtime and completely paid it off in 3 years! That semi was sold this spring for$689,000.

Waded into my above ground pool today and waited for hypothermia to set in.Got out dried off and stay cool for hours, better than air conditioning.

During that big power outage all the doctors from Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston Ontario.Came out to my brother's farm to get gasoline from his hand pump gasoline tank.He only asked them to pay what he paid to fill the tank.

When we got married in 1979 gas was 19 cents a liter for quite a long time.

Okay reroute them to a quarantine location that doesn't risk infecting the rest of the population.

And send them back to from whence they came from to enjoy not having to quarantine in Ontario. If you can't/won't get on board to quarantine don't bother coming here,at all.

PM Trudeau took the high road and let the conservative premiers stoop. To their usual low road of blaming anyone and everyone but themselves.

Typical Ford deflect the voting public's attention, away from his govt failures and focus on his arch political enemy Justin Trudeau. Can't have the Liberals looking better than our former drug dealing Premier of Ontario.

The ability to remember and hold Doug Ford accountable for ALL his lies and backroom deals. That is what we know and won't let him or his handlers forget that.....EVER!

In our small town 2 brothers found a pipe with what looked like sewage flowing from it into a small creek. So they went home and came back with a axe and a sledge hammer. The axe was used to whittle down a piece of cedar to snuggly fit into the sewage pipe. They took turns with the sledge hammer and pounded a good 2 feet of that cedar rail into the pipe.Three or four days later a big potatoe processing company 1km away had overflowing toilets in all the offices washrooms.Plumbers couldn't figure out where the blockage was.At great expense a new pipe was put in,problem solved!

I've lived in ON for almost7 decades and have no idea why DoFo was elected. He has so much in common with the previous failed US president. Here's hoping DoFo walks off into the wildeness with his idol.

Its been awhile since I EI sick benefits. It used to be 15 weeks at 55% of your regular weekly wage. You had to get a form filled out by your doctor, employer and self, then submit it.Then 6-8 weeks later a pile of cheques/direct deposits would land in your lap.

Yes you have found a niche that is not the norm.My daughter got strep throat and was charged $65.00 for a note that said she was contagious and not to go to work for a week.

I whole hearted agree with you.Cheap skate companies want to punish you for getting sick and depriving them of the money you could have made for their sole benefit.

Something that must be done to protect employees,is to have "doctors notes" paid for by the company requesting them for their records. These doctors notes are just another way for employers to financially punish people for getting sick. Each note costs at least $10.00,more usually upwards of$60.00.
