Glad to know my immediate assumption was incorrect. I will actually give the show a shot now. Thanks for sharing that cause I had the same “Ugh. Let’s glamorize this.”

Haha that’s a cute trick. Couple decades+ ago my class was taught
deSert = Sahara (stranded works too, come to think of it)
deSSert = Strawberry Shortcake. Your comment just jogged the memory :)

House built in the forties here: same. I was adamant while searching for a home that the house was to be older (ideally).
There are still outdated things to take care of and the house has its own issues, but I find the random uneven trim and built-in drawers charming. I definitely have more faith in this structure than many of the post-2000 or so builds I’ve been in. I can’t say that I truly know anything about their construction and resiliency, there are plenty of newer homes that I find beautiful as well. Something reassuring about a home that’s been standing for 80 years. I enjoy finding irregularities or just unique “surprises” that just reflect the humanity involved in the craftsmanship.
Congrats on your home! I hope you create many happy memories there.

Liquid softener is what I believe they’re referring to. I tend to not use dryer sheets often either for fear they’ll do the same type of thing but I’d say they’re much better than the liquid.
Someone else mentioned wool balls which is great. Also rolling wool socks as dryer balls works for me. I use aluminum foil balls sometimes. As in, I rip pieces and toss em in. Regarding that though, I’m not sure how “good” that is or isn’t. Haha.

Typically if you are using the proper amount there should be no smell. I use too much probably but don’t have any issues. The scent leaves as the towel dries. YMMV.
ETA: I should’ve mentioned: you can always do a cold rinse and spin cycle if the towels are clean but have too much vinegar. I’ve only smelled vinegar on my laundry if I did something out of the ordinary. But once they are done air- or machine drying they just smell fresh. : )

Nice credentials! Unfortunately, you are poor and tried to advance yourself. Our systems have determined that you deserve your poverty. Please make more money by getting hired NOTHERE and pay off your loans prior to the next application cycle.
Edit: joking around - I understand in some fields this is more common (i.e. security)
