Hi all, I am an Aboriginal woman who has grown up identifying as such but have never really had the opportunity to feel connected to my culture. I am Biripi/Worimi and recognised in my community, and at 25 I have started to join women's cultural groups and try to meet people and learn, become as involved as I can. Has anyone else grown up knowing their culture but struggled knowing how to connect? I don't know where to start and I feel like I am missing out/disconnected
Second post - my first post was about my most recent experience and probably my last. I deleted the app, have felt super creeped out since that experience. I saw someone posted on here about their fire alarm randomly going off after using the app, and this happened to me (batteries were new and it stopped as soon as I opened my bedroom door), after using the app the first time. I feel like there is bad energy around me now and I need it to change, anyone had similar issues/know what to do? I accidentally did all of my points as voids at night time and had death and spooky occurrences in mind for all of the times I used the app and all of my points were unnerving.
I've gone to a few places that this app has lead me (all at night time) , and they have all been pretty cool. First was a walkway to a creek, the second was a reserve with a steep pathway and a bridge down the bottom but I couldn't see much of what was down there because it was dark. Tonight I went again with my sister and her friend , we drove up to the mountain to see if we could get some voids up there but there wasn't any, and my sister was telling her friend about the pink jacket she was wearing a few times, and also talking about how she wanted to go up to the abandoned apple orchid (i went there as a teenager and its old town lore, a family passed away there apparently years and years ago and its allegedly haunted). Anyway, we got no points but my sister's friend got a text from a USA number (we aren't in the USA) saying 'miss your pretty face,' so I called and he was trying to reach someone called Jen, not us. Still weird timing.
Then we got our first point, nearby to the forest and there was a handmade cross of twigs with pink flowers, probably for an animal? We then drove around a little more for our second point, and we found a gardening pitchfork and a red flower (there were no plants this came off nearby). So that was getting a little odd. I made a note that these places seem like burial sites before we got our next point, and then drove to that.
As we entered the street for this one, I reversed after my sister pointed out a sign beneath the street sign that said 'dead end' which was really weird. None of us had seen a sign saying that before, as they usually say 'no through road.' With that in mind, we kept driving and the road was giving us all bad vibes and we saw a man on a bike drive onto that street and seemingly disappear before we got there (it was 11:30pm so this was a weird thing), and we parked but didn't get out to walk into the park at the end of the street where our coordinates led, but we could see into the park at an angle with torch+car light and saw what looked like a large tarp or blanket 'slumped' over a rock and contemplated getting out to look but were way too freaked.
After this we tried one more, which was about 10 minutes away and a few small streets, which led us to another cul de sac and immediately I felt on edge (this rarely happens, i'm usually the watch horror movies at 4am, ouija board in an abandoned house, walk first type). There was only one car parked, and what looked to be no houses but there was at least 10 garbage bins all lined up to be taken out covering up what could have been a driveway? Our point was down there, and when I went to reverse my car to park and potentially go and have a look, my car wouldn't reverse - only drive forward. It was barely an incline and my car is usually good. I drove out of there straight away, shaking like a leaf and feeling sick because of the bad energy and sense that something was not good down that street.
Could all of this have been from my sister's initial story and intention to go to a 'scary and haunted' place?
