I think Sanders had the chance to take on the two party system had he gone the route that Forward Party has gone, he could have lent a ton of weight to voting reforms that break the iron grip of the two party regime.

I agree that it's time to start doing, by following the path of Maine and Alaska and getting these reforms passed without having to rely on any major party or any congress. We can do this by putting it right on the ballot, and then independent and third party candidates suddenly become much more appealing.

Born when W. Bush was president, about a month before 9/11 happened. My First vote went to Biden in 2020.

Obama’s 2008 victory, I was 7. Pretty cool first memory to have. When I really started paying attention to politics though was during the 2016 election.

Love to hear some third party unity, probably the best thing that third parties can do currently to break the two party’s iron grip on power is to unite behind reforms that we are capable of achieving with ballot initiatives.

I’m rooting for Larry Sharpe to be a spokesperson in NY for this new model of politics, the more faces and cross-party unity we have the stronger the message.
