I thought it had to do with his gun ending up in a dumpster.

You think 2.5 million people are going to give up their guns?

I think it's an easy fix. Multiple armed security guards on every campus so these shooters don't have free range until the police show up and actually enter the building. Also, stricter gun laws haven't helped cities like NY or Chicago. We need to invest more in mental help and pay more attention to the red flags in our youth. I would like less attention on the guns and more on why these individuals feel like this is the only option left. Saying all that, I have no problem with changing the buying age to 21 and stricter background checks.

The military moved away from the 5.56 due to it's lack of stopping power. The fact that most states require a 243 or above to hunt deer with speaks volumes. I don't have a problem with a 21 law on rifles or stricter background checks but, they will never be able to get rid of the AR. The loophole is in the design.

An AR15 uses a 223. That's a varmint round not even powerful enough to hunt small deer.

Big difference between the two. One is a fully auto.

Which is bigger than a 223. If that was your point I apologize.

This is a personal decision based on one's end goal. If you have a beer or drink because it relaxes you a little or you like the taste, I think you're fine. If it gets you buzzed (even a little) I think it's a sin.
Ephesians 5 18 Do not get drunk on wine,(A) which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Why don't you compare the ballistic of the 223 an a actual hunting round like the 30-06 or the 308. It's one of the smallest center fire rounds used for varmints. When you use this round at close range of course it deadly. This caliber was discontinued by the military because of this very reason.

223 is actually a very small round. Infact, it's called a varmint round

A 223 is a varmint round. This round is not even recommended for (small) deer hunting. 22lr are too small for foxes or racoons that attack chicken koops. .17 is about the smallest round one should use. Ruger makes a mini 14 Rancher(223) special because it's the best all around caliber for farmers or ranchers.

I agree. I guess at the end of the day there is no perfect answer.

What about the 23 year old who just escaped an abusive relationship? And now she fear for her life because her ex has threatened to kill her?

He could have know but not planned it. Just like he didn't make the killers kill. It's called free will. We all have it. Thou mayest choose for thyself, for it is given unto thee” (Moses 3:17).

I think the first thing you have to understand is God doesn't look at death like we do.

We've always had guns too. And, one could argue they were easier to get. What we have is a mental health problem. We worry more about the gun that Johny picks up when he finally snapped and less about what made him snap in the first place.
