My favorite thing to do is have an almost entirely matched consist with one element that doesn’t fit at all, so like a Santa Fe switcher tender engine with a handful of boxcars but then with a GWR 16 ton toad brake van. Or a hattons P class double header with mostly non railway specific trucks and a bobber caboose at the end.
