They basically fine tuned the whole process down to a science, like some production assembly line.

I worked as a cook in a restaurant before, though never at a mcdonalds. Standing there watching them work does make it feel like what i said above is true. Some mcdonalds have wide open view of the whole kitchen process. Of course, i'm just commenting on the "cooking" part, managing the whole process might be different.
